What is the best time of year to take this tour?

The Evening Glow tour operates year-round, but the best conditions for bioluminescence are available throughout the year. We've seen spectacular displays in all seasons! Each season offers unique beauty—lush greenery during rainy season and calmer seas during dry season.

How long is the entire tour?

The complete experience lasts approximately 10-12 hours from hotel pickup to drop-off. You'll depart around midday and return to your hotel between 9:00-9:30 PM.

Is this tour suitable for beginners?

Absolutely! No previous kayaking experience is required. Our expert guides provide full instruction and support throughout the journey. The paddling is at a relaxed pace with calm waters in protected lagoons.

What languages do the guides speak?

All our guides speak English fluently. We can arrange guides speaking other languages with advance notice—please inquire when booking.

What is included in the price?

Your package includes roundtrip hotel transfers, welcome drink, Thai lunch and dinner, all kayaking equipment and safety gear, expert guides, and all activities (cave exploration, James Bond Island visit, sunset cruise, and night paddle).

Are there any hidden costs?

No hidden fees! The only additional cost is the national park entrance fee (approximately THB 300 per person), which is paid directly at the park and helps maintain these beautiful locations.

Do children pay full price?

Children 2 years and under are free. Children ages 4-12 are charged THB 1,925. Children 12 years and older pay the regular adult rate. For the best experience, we recommend this tour for kids aged 4 and up.

What is your cancellation policy?

We offer free cancellation up to 24 hours before your tour departure for a full refund. Cancellations within 24 hours or no-shows are non-refundable.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express) through our secure payment gateway. Payment is in Thai Baht.

What should I wear and bring?

Wear comfortable, lightweight clothing that can get wet. We recommend swimwear with a cover-up, water shoes or sandals with straps, sunscreen, and a hat. Bring a change of dry clothes for the evening portion. We provide life jackets and dry bags for your belongings.

Can I bring my camera or phone?

Yes! We recommend bringing a waterproof camera or phone case. Our guides can help take photos during the trip. We also have dry bags available to keep your electronics safe during water activities.

What happens during the bioluminescence experience?

After sunset, we paddle through the mangrove channels where the water comes alive with glowing plankton. Every paddle stroke creates magical trails of blue-green light. This natural phenomenon is best experienced on darker nights with minimal moonlight.

Is the sea cave exploration safe?

Yes, our experienced guides have explored these caves thousands of times. We only enter caves when tides are appropriate, and our guides are trained in cave navigation. Life jackets are worn at all times, and the canoes are stable and designed for these conditions.

Are there age or health restrictions?

Children aged 4 and above are welcome with an adult. Guests should be able to sit comfortably in a canoe for extended periods. Those with severe back problems, recent surgeries, or serious medical conditions should consult their doctor before booking.

Can pregnant women participate?

We recommend pregnant women consult with their doctor before booking. While the paddling is gentle, the full-day tour involves extended boat travel and may not be suitable for all stages of pregnancy.

What safety equipment is provided?

We provide life jackets for all participants, stable sea canoes with experienced paddlers, first aid equipment on all boats, and our guides are trained in water safety and first aid. Insurance coverage is included in all packages.

What happens if the weather is bad?

Safety is our priority. In case of severe weather (storms, dangerous waves), we will offer a full refund or reschedule to another date. Light rain typically does not affect the tour and can actually enhance the atmosphere!

Where does the tour depart from?

The tour departs from Ao Por Pier in Phuket. We provide hotel pickup from central Phuket, Patong, Kata, Karon, and surrounding areas. Pickup times vary based on your hotel location.

Is hotel pickup included?

Yes! Complimentary hotel pickup and drop-off is included for hotels in central Phuket areas. For hotels outside our standard pickup zones, please contact us to arrange private transfer options.

Can I join if I'm staying in Khao Lak or Krabi?

We can arrange pickup from Khao Lak or Krabi for an additional transfer fee. Please contact us at least 48 hours before your tour to arrange transportation from these areas.

What time will I return to my hotel?

Most guests return to their hotels between 9:00-9:30 PM, depending on hotel location and traffic conditions. The bioluminescence experience happens after dark, making for a magical end to your adventure.
